William married Elizabeth Johnson after March 10, 1784 in Amelia County, Virginia, United States.

Problems...The will of William Allen, dated 13 Jan 1818 in Amelia Co. VA,, naming his wife Patty, attached daughter Elizabeth Cousins, son-in-law, John C. Cousins, son William Archer Allen, etc. He died a good while before that 1832 pension affidavit in North Carolina for William Allen (born c. 1760). Looks like someone added a second William and a second Ann as children of Samuel and Martha in 2018
I think that if you will write it into the bio just the way you read the records, then it will be clear enough for everyone to see.

It sounds like there are problems in the military records, but I defer to you on any opinion concerning records.

This is a real wierd case sweety. He was born 1745, served three consecutive terms and every one was as a first Sgt. He served right from the beginnig of the War. No kid would have been a 1st Sgt. His pension disposition say he was born December 26, 1760. Thats more or less his sisters birth date. I have no doubts he was the son of Col Samuel Allen and Mary Archer. but how do i explain this discreptioncey.
