Morton Edwin Baldock was born on 12 December 1875 in Auckland, New Zealand.[1] He was the only child of Edward Baldock and Margaret Kezia (Broad) Baldock.
By 1900 Morton was living in Carlton Gore Rd, Grafton, Auckland and working as a carpenter. He is registered as Morton Edward Baldock. [2]
On 12 October 1906 Morton married Alice Annie Isabel Margaret Irvine at Epsom, Auckland. [3] There were 6 children from the marriage.
Morton had his brother-in-law Irvine-908 as an apprentice while building houses in the Devonport area.
Before 1910 Morton and Alice moved to Remuera living in Norana Avenue [4] [5] About 1913 they moved to Station Terrace, Remuera (now Ohinerua St). [6] [7] Wise's Directory for 1916 shows Morton having an office in room 31 on the second floor of Palmerston Buildings, 47 Queen St, The office is shared with Miss D E Hudson typist, stenographer and commercial secretary, and 2 architects Johnston Clark and Doug Jack. [8]
Morton died on 27 January 1917 [9] at 41 years old. He is buried at Waikaraka Cemetery, Onehunga, Auckland Area 3 Block 10 Lot No 37A. [10] [11]
