Simon Barrieau was born about 1731 in Acadie, son of Antoine Barrieau and Angélique Pelagie Thibodeau.
Around 1750, Simon's parents decided to seek a better life on Isle Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward Island). The family was listed on the 1752 census at Rivière-du-Moulin-à-Scie with 3 sons and 4 daughters. Simon was recorded at 21 years of age. [1]
Simon married Rosalie Simard on 5 Mar 1764 in Baie Saint-Paul, Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul, Charlevoix, Quebec. [2]
Simon married Ursule Forest on 10 Feb 1772 in Laprairie, Quebec. [2]
Simon died on 7 Feb 1790 in Laprairie aged ~58. [2]

Antoinne Barriau, senior, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 55 years, he has been two years in the country. Married to Angelique Thibaudeau, native of l'Acadie, aged 48 years.
