Mary Bonnett was born about 1735, after her parents arrived in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of Jean Bonnet and Anne Marie Desreaux. She was probably born in Pennsylvania, where her parents lived for a time for moving down to Monocacy Valley, in Maryland. Mary grew up with at least eight siblings.
Mary married John Wetzel (abt.1733-1786) about 1756 and they made their home along Big Wheeling Creek, which is now the Sand Hill District, in Marshall County, West Virginia. Together they raised at least five children. Mary died about 1805 and is buried in McCreary Cemetery, Wheeling, West Virginia. [1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Bonnett-192 and Bonnett-28 do not represent the same person because: I believe that Mary Bonnett had a sister named Margaret, who married John Conrad Sixt/Sykes. She also had a sister, Elisabeth, who married Nicholas Wetzel.
