Isabelle Bourg is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana. She is listed among the passengers of la Bergere, arrivee le 15 aout 1785 as cousine de Jean Pierre Bourg et sa soeur, Francoise.[1]

Isabelle "Elisabeth" Bourg was born in Acadie to Claude Bourg and Anne Henry about 1752,[2] not long before the British ended Acadie with le grand dérangement.

Her mother's death at sea while crossing to France in 1758 tells us that she and her family were sent to France in 1758 from Île Saint-Jean or Louisbourg. Her father had also died not long after their arrival in France; she was about seven then, and so presumably raised with paternal relatives. From France she immigrated with paternal cousins to Spanish Louisiana on La Bergère, in 1785.[3] About a month after arriving in New Orleans, she married fellow passenger Francois Frioux, a Frenchman from Paimboeuf, in New Orleans on Sept 27, 1785.[4][5]

Isabelle died in Louisiana in 1810 or 1819. [citation needed]

Bourg-334 and Bourg-819 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birth year (Nova Scotia is unsourced but Acadie is OK).

Death date of 1819 is sourced by Karen Theriot Reader.
