Alexander Boyd was born in Scotland.
He married Mary "Little Molly" Buchanan in Scotland.
Together they became the parents of four sons and four daughters, including Thomas Boyd, James Boyd, Andrew Boyd, and Sarah Ann Buchanan (Boyd) Foster.
