John Bruce snr is recorded in the U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900 as being born in Virginia 1742 and marrying Mary 1760. Mary's birth date is given as 1745.
In the will of John Bruce snr. dated 10 March 1816, also 28 Oct 1816 he mentions his children viz:
Rebekah wife of Jesse Samuel Monday
Winney wife of John Morefield, grandson Willis Morefield
