Born in Seymour Indiana December 19, 1957. Family moved back to Mitchell Indiana until I was 4 years old, when the family moved again to Seymour. We lived on 12th or 13th street in the "Pink" house (and it was Pink). We lived there for 2 years and then we built a house on Meadowlark Drive (209). During the summer the house was being built, we rented an old farm house in the country ($100 for the whole summer). It had NO indoor plumbing, just a hand pump in the kitchen and one outside and an outhouse. We lived in the house on Meadowlark Drive until the summer of 1968 when we moved to Franklin Indiana. We rented a house on Churchill Rd until our house on Parkview Ct (210) was finished. We moved into the new house before school started that fall. We remained in that home until after my mother passed away in 1975. Daddy decided to sell the house and get a mobile home because he was nearing retirement age and was wanting to downsize his expenses. He died the next year in 1976. The mobile home was located in Franklin at Countryview Lot 80. Georganna, Carolyn and I were all still living at home and remained there until Georganna and I both got married leaving Carolyn in the mobile home by herself. I married Griff Dean in August of 1979. Life was not smooth sailing as he lost his job soon after we were married and refused to get another job. He passed his time smoking weed while I worked. I had my 1st job. A computer programmer for Anacomp. I did not handle things appropriately and I foolishly decided to bring a child into the unstable mix that was our life. Margaret Rose Dean was born on October 29, 1980. By the time she was 6 months old I had lost my job, again because of bad decisions on my part. We were alone and afraid and reluctant to turn to family because we felt they would see us as failures. We ended up having Margaret taken away from us which made us even more alone and afraid and still not turning to family. When what little money we had finally ran out, I bailed on Griff and finally contacted my sisters Carolyn and Georganna. I went to stay with Carolyn back at the mobile home at Countryview, but my worry about Griff surviving made me contact him. He pulled me back in to his grasp and he talked me into forging some checks from my Grandmother;s account so he could have money to buy weed. We got caught on the 2nd check and were both arrested in Seymour Indiana. I told the police he had nothing to do with it and that it was all my doing so that they would not put him it jail. He was let go free. I spent a few weeks in the Brownstown Jail. The wanted me to contact my family but I would not. I knew they would be ashamed of me. The public defender got in touch with them and with my Grandmother. She agreed not to press charges and Donna agreed to come to Indiana to get me. I knew I couldn't go back to Griff and it was extremely hard for me to not do that. I thought in my mind he would not make it without me. * First-hand information. Hi Charlotte!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

To contact me, log into WikiTree, and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment so that I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment, on my profile page.

PS: Did you know that we have a research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier? I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootSearch FAQ.
