Research Notes

Considerable research needs to be done to confirm/deny his dates of birth and death and his parentage and whether he had a son Robert Bird.

Both birth and death dates are unknown or unconfirmed.

On the wikipedia page of Thomas Burgh 3rd Baron Burgh, it states that his daughter Elizabeth married 1. George Brooke, 2. John Byrd of Broxton and 3. Francis Reade.[3] Wikipedia cites Burke's Peerage 107th edition. It is clear that this Elizabeth Burgh, daughter of Thomas Burgh, married George Brooke and Francis Reade. Further evidence is required that she also married John Bird of Broxton.
Older sources give Elizabeth Burgh only two husbands, George Brooke and Francis Reade. There is very little time for Elizabeth to have married John Byrd of Broxton if her first husband died on 5 December 1503 and she married Francis Reade before 24 October 1505. The Writings of Col. William Byrd state that John Le Bird of London married Elizabeth, daughter of Oliver Burgh als Copparsmith.[4] If Burke's in fact says that Elizabeth was a daughter of Thomas Burgh, I think it is clearly in error. Also, John Byrd of Broxton and Elizabeth Burgh had five children together, which would make her identification as the daughter of Thomas Burgh 3rd Baron Burgh impossible.

Byrd-1094 and Bird-1051 appear to represent the same person because: Same set of parents and potential birth year. I don't see anything in either parent profiles that indicate they had two sons named John. The profiles either need to be merged or it needs to be clarified in both profiles or the profiles of the parents that these are two different people.
