Biography

Frances Carsley was born about 1630 to Henry Carsley and Elizabeth Berryman in Acomack County, Virginia.^[1] Alice Wilson, Frances' grandmother, wrote a will sometime in 1640 in which she mentioned "my granddaughter Frances Carsley."^[2]

In 1647, Frances Carsley authorized her uncle Thomas Johnson to recover her deceased sister Anne's estate.^[1]

Frances married Jeffrey Minshall 18 may 1650 in Northampton County, Virginia.^[1] Since she was young, her uncle Thomas Johnson acted as attorney in arranging a pre-nuptial agreement.^[1] Frances and Jeffrey had the following children:
