Stephanie, I've been doing a lot of local research on the family of Jasper Churchill. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Churchill-1619 As you can see I've added some to his profile, this means that the dates and the name of his purported father are at present incorrect.

Basically there was a yeoman of Bradford Peverell Jasper, m to an Elizabeth. Jasper may (but no real proof) be the son of Matthew Churchill and Alice Gould . Jasper had 3 sons, one of which was a Jasper, the other John who was ancestor of the Duke of Malborough and the other Edward. I would like to carry on working these profiles and try to get them as accurate and sourced as possible.

I have spent the past 12 years researching my CHURCHILL family as far back as possible. I have managed to get to 1540 with mostly sources and positive confirmation, but a lot still needs to be confirmed. Especially prior to 1540 to the possible links with De Courcelle, etc.

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Regarding your dead end:

If you have an ancestor you are stuck on, you can add the category "Family Brickwall" to their profile. That will make it so that other people will join in the search. To add the category, edit the narrative section of their profile page to put in as much as you do know and what the remaining questions are. Then at the very top of that area, above the biography section, add: "Category:Family_Brickwall", replacing the quotation marks with 2 brackets on each end.

Happy Hunting, Carole
