Marie Anne Costé was born on 14 Aug 1696 in La Malbaie and baptized on 20 Aug 1696 by P. Gagnon, a missionary priest who recorded the baptism in the registry of nearby Baie-St-Paul. She was the first-born child of Jean Costé and Marie Choret. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Pierre Jou_ and Catherine Caron, wife of Pierre Dupré. The family eventually grew to include ten brothers and sisters who lived to adulthood. [Act states: Being hidden by the binding, the family names of the father and the sponsor are partly illegible][1][2][3][4].
Marriage Marie Anne Côté married Gabriel Paradis, captain of the militia of Kamouraska, around 1719. The exact time and place of the marriage is unknown. Her husband donated the land where the first parish church of Kamouraska was built.
Death and Burial Geneviève Costé, wife of the late Gabriel Paradis, was buried on 12 Apr 1756 in Saint-Louis parish cemetery of Kamouraska. In the presence of known witnesses Baptiste Laplante, Jean Laplante and Jacques Paradis. The officiating priest was J. Trutaut. Her age or exact date of death is not mentioned in the burial record.[6][7]
