DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Susannah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Susannah:
Susannah Emerson, wife of James G. Head, was a daughter of Henson Emerson. Yet, Henson was not the same person as Aquilla Emerson. Henson lived ca. 1765 - 1817, and Aquilla lived 1771-1850. While there are records for Henson in Kentucky, Aquilla never left Prince George's County, Maryland and Alexandria, Va. Additionally, Susannah Simpson Emerson was Aquilla's wife, not Henson's wife. As deed paperwork in Kentucky clearly shows Susan alive in the 1830s, and Susannah Simpson Emerson had died in Alexandria, Va., 26 Aug 1805, the two women clearly cannot be the same person.
Please provide documentation and source material to justify linkage to Aquilla and Susannah Emerson as parents. Whike compelling, given the name "Susannah" and the date of birth, I'm unable to find proof.
