Hello Nicholas

Thanks for joining WikiTree. I'm a Mentor available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may have about WikiTree.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and I see Ludwig has already posted a link to WikiTree's Help Index, an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

If you have questions, feel free to ask me via my profile page.

Maryann ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your message to me regarding your desire to build and expand your family tree. I have found WikiTree to be an excellent tool for research and collaboration.

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree. Once you entered your family members it is exciting to see other people finding your family profiles, asking questions, and expanding it.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Great to have you on board, good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree.

Ludwig :)

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your note showing your family covers a number of countries and continents. Are you planning on contributing to our Wikitree and adding your own research or are you just wanting to search and use the forum? You are more than welcome to do so, it is free, and you don’t have to become a volunteer.

If you want to contribute as well, entering and maintaining person profiles, please leave us another message and we can then make you a full member. As indicated above, if you just want to use our forums and search around then you can do that as a guest.

One of our volunteers will be happy to make you a full member if you post again.

Thanks for using WikiTree to grow your family tree.
