Biography

Burwell Green was born April 12, 1765 in Virginia as Burrell Green, son of Lewis Green and Lucy Tyus, He was baptized: November 17, 1765 with Godparents as Peter Green and Joel Knight. [1]

He passed away in 1829 in Alabama.

Biography Use caution before merging this William Green. There was another William and Sarah Green living in Georgia during this same time frame so it would be easy to mix them up. William Green was possibly the son of William Green (4-23-1756; Stafford Co., VA) and Elizabeth (Tucker) Green (b. ca 1776). William (b. 1756) is said to be the son of William Green (b. 1720 in Berkshire, England) & Ann Robinson who married December 18, 1743 in Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co., Virginia.[1] William Green (b. ca 1777) is thought to have married Sarah Sneed.[2] GREENE, William and SNEED, Sally - 15 Jun 1817 [Marriage Records of Morgan County, Georgia] Is this the correct William and Sarah? 1840 District 280, Morgan County, Georgia Census William Green 1m 40-50 [William would be about 63] 1f 30-40 [Sarah would be about 62] 1f 10-15 [Rebecca would be about 15] 1f 10-15 [Sarena would be about 14] 1m 05-10 [James would be about 13] 1f 05-10 1m 00-05 1f 00-05 Neighbors: William Wilson and John Shepherd Unless the other three children didn't belong to William and Sarah or they died, the above doesn't seem to be the correct William for this profile. Green-32737 and Green-13152 appear to represent the same person because: they share the exact same vital statistics, the same mother, the same siblings and the same spouse, Phoebe. The difference in fathers and spelling of first names (Burrell vs. Burwell) need to be rectified.

The birth record for Burrell Green born 12 Apr 1765 list William as his father and Lucy as his mother.

All the other children for Lucy have the correct father identified as William. There is an unmerged match with Green-32737 that has William identified as his father.
