TABLE TALK.
THE LATE S. P. HAWKINS, ESQ.-The last issue of the Guardian contained an obituary notice of the late S. P. Hawkins Esq., who died on the 27th ult., at his residence, Melville Forest. A number of the towns-people, friends of the deceased, met the funeral at the forest Inn on Thursday, at 2.30 p.m., and followed the remains to the last resting place in the North Cemetery. The Rev. S. Kelso officiated at the grave. The deceased was a very old colonist and well known in the district; he was charitable without ostentation, and some of our public institutions will feel his loss.[5]
