He is the son of Stephen and Prudence (Rowley) Horton.[1] NOTE: surname spelled Haughton/Houghton.
Wife: Lucy Phelps, daughter of Ichabod Phelps and Mary ____. They married 30 Aug 1789 in Glastonbury, Connecticut.[2] Both parties were from Hebron, Connecticut.
Sampson died aged 91 in August of 1856, in Connecticut.[3][4] He is buried with numerous other Horton relatives in Section 2 of the Old Church Cemetery in Glastonbury.
