Hester was born in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut on May 27, 1664, the daughter of John Hosford.[1][2][3] She was the daughter of John Hosford and Phillury Thrall. She inherited 100 pounds from her father's estate. Around 1688, she married, as his second wife, Joseph Phelps of East Windsor. Joseph and Hester had four children, including Abigail. Hester also raised Joseph's five children from his first wife. They were only married for seven years when Joseph died in East Windsor in his 48th year.
Hester was named to administer the estate on September 25, 1695. Sometime later, she married Samuel Kent of Suffield.
She died sometime after 1696 according to World Family Tree[4][5] but on August 30, 1716 according to Geni (My Heritage.com)[6]

Horsford-39 and Hosford-163 appear to represent the same person because: they have the same name, the same parents and the same birth date and location. Hosford is the preferred spelling of the surname in Great Migration Begins, which is the main source for early New England profiles at WikiTree. Recommend using 30 Aug 1716 for death date - not a conflict, since the other date is AFTER 1696. BUT death location IS a conflict - I will look for a source to clear that up. Thank you for helping to tidy up WikiTree. April Dauenhauer
