Greetings!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi William, I am Mary Richardson, a Mentor.

We all have brick walls, and that makes genealogy interesting. Thought I would send along some helpful hints] Our goal is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for Duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. DOB, DOD, and locations attached to every person helps all as well. If you reach an ancestor that is present on WikiTree, contact the PM via Trusted List access.

Check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started. Help Index has links to topics to questions.

Check out G2G forum, link-in left topic (top of your screen).

This one is good also http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Profile_Sections

More help? You can drop me a line ~Mary

Hello Bill, Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, Patt

Have been doing this for many years and still have many brick walls. Am looking forward to sharing my family tree with others. It has brought great benefits when shared on other sites.
