Abraham Jones, son of Peter Jones (will dated June 16, 1721, pr. March 10, 1726), married Sarah Batte,[1][2] daughter of Henry and Mary (Lound) Batte.
Abraham, who was born about 1690,[2] is the great-grandson (in law) of Abraham Wood, through the Peter Jones named in his will:[1]
Four "grandchildren in law" were mentioned in the will of Abraham Wood, who died in 1682: "Abram Jones, Richard Jones, Peter Jones and William Jones", presumably the sons of his step-daughter Margaret who married Captain Peter Jones (who was included with William Jones among headrights for 400 acres in Charles City County on the Appamattox River granted to 638 Abraham Wood in 1638; the same Peter who served as a captain under General Abraham Wood).[3]
Abraham and Sarah (Batte) Jones "removed in 1749 to Amelia County".[2] They had the following children:[1][4][5]
Abraham Jones left a will dated 29 September 1758 that was proved 23 November 1758 in Amelia County (Amelia Will Book 1, page 137).[11]
Research Notes
Abraham's September 1758 will mentions his deceased brother, Peter.[11]
Unsourced, now merged, profiles claim: Abraham was born in 1690. He passed away in 1749.
Detached from duplicate profiles for parents Peter and Mary: Jones-78977 & Batte-228. The duplicated profiles for his wife are in a proposed merge.
Duplicate profiles for son John are not actually duplicates. The John that was attached to [Jones-78976] is the son of Martha Batte, who married a different Abraham (if I'm reading an old comment on this profile correctly). Regardless, the son John listed on Abraham Jones-9312 (who married Sarah Batte) shows he was born in 1742. The profile for John (Jones-78975) that had been attached to this Abraham ([Jones-78976]) shows b/d: 1718-1790.
This "Unknown" Jones was automatically created by WikiTree when I added Margaret Jones and her siblings.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abraham by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Abraham:
that wasn't this Abraham, who is named in the will of his father, Peter Jones II (1666-bef.1726), which was written in 1721 and proved in 1726. There are a lot of Peter Joneses in colonial Virginia.
There's a WikiTree profile for an Abram who died in 1719, attached as son of Abram - see Abram Jones (bef.1660-1719) - who is likely the referenced Abraham. Text for his profile says "On 13 April 1719, "Peter Jones Jr. son of Abraham Jones" and Mary, his wife, made several conveyances in Prince George County".
And the 1721 will of Peter Jones Senior, which names son Abraham (so, still living) also names son Peter AND son-in-law Peter Jones, as well as daughter Mary Jones, wife of Peter Jones. This Mary (daughter of Peter Senior) and her husband Peter Jones are probably the the Peter Jones Jr., "son of Abraham, and his wife Mary" listed in the Prince George County land record, dated 13 April 1719.
This matches up with what the book you cited actually says: "He left a son called Peter and a son-in-law called Peter, the latter a son of Abraham Jones, who was dead in April, 1719."
Jones-86396 and Jones-9312 appear to represent the same person because: re-proposing. found/posted link to RBB card for daughter Susannah. She lived in Tennessee & when widowed moved to Georgia. The Florida transcription says children of Abraham listed were "living in Florida". If more research is needed, please postpone rather than reject.
Jones-86396 and Jones-9312 appear to represent the same person because: RBB cards for Margaret and Abraham support that the Margaret who died unmarried with a will dated 1794 is dau. of Abraham who married Sarah Batte.
Jones-78976 and Jones-9312 appear to represent the same person because: working on merging a bunch of duplicate Jones profiles. These are now ready to merge. Thanks!
i set an unmerged match.. the other Abraham's attached to this Abraham's parents but the wife attached isn't his (this Abraham married Sarah Batte). There's also a son John attached to both that will need to be looked at. I just proposed merges for the duplicates of Abraham's parents. I'll look at Abraham's profiles after they're completed.
From Thomas Batte's profile: Mary Batte m Peter Jones of Charles City County;[6] Mary (b 1669) m Peter Jones, brother of her sister Martha's husband Abraham Wood Jones ...
After the duplicate profiles for Abraham's parents are merged, we can look to straightening out the duplicates for Abraham (this Martha is not his... didn't look at son John).
Please Fix the error #868 Inline citations after <references /> tag (per my suggestions report.
Also, I am noticing that Abraham Jones Sr is the father of 2 Abraham Jones Jr's. Is that correct? Should the brother of Abraham Jr be Thomas as shown under Sarah Batte-44 ?
update - again working on Joneses & making some progress, at least with Peter Joneses. See Space:Virginia Peter Joneses.
<sigh> I'm beginning to think that Abraham (m Sarah Batte) _is_ the son of Peter & Mary (Batte) Jones. (Sarah and Mary are first cousins.)
update: It was too hard to track all the Peters & Abrahams with him unattached to his (best we know) correct parents. So he's attached to Mary Batte-7 & her husband Peter Jone-8083

Martha and Mary are Thomas's daughters.
The named Abraham and Peter are the sons of Peter Jones-6845 and his wife Margaret. See Space:Virginia Peter Joneses.

My apologies if I'm incorrect.
