We use a languages template to help each other know what languages we understand. It really aids collaboration with other members. For example, since you speak German and English, you could copy the following code, then edit your own profile, paste it as a top line, and save.

That will place a box on your profile which lets others know which languages you are comfortable with. You can adjust the codes for your languages.
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
