Biography

PRDH entry is in accord with the information given here[1] except for the dit name "Laforme" which is in none of the documents included here, perhaps it is in one or more of her children's wedding entries. The usual dit name associated with Kemner is Laflamme.

Birth/Baptism

Marie Josephe was born December 21st 1772, she was the daughter of Jean Baptiste Kemneur and Marie Anges Bouchard. She was baptized the next day in St-Vallier, godparents were Étienne Denis Lapierre and Marie Joseph Tangué, no signatures.[2]

Marriage

On September 7th 1807, in Sts-Gervais et Protais, Jacques Savache dit Rouleau, widower of Marie Angélique Dagneau married Josephte Kemeleur adult daughter of Jean Baptiste Kemeleur and Angélique Bouchard. Witnesses were: Groom- his uncle Joseph Richard (signature), his brother Augustin Savache dit Rouleau; Bride- her brother Prix Kemeleur and a friend Joseph Canac (signature).[3]

  5. Marie M. Joseph Gautron Larochelle 4 Aug 1823 (this is likely Marie Louise)
  6. Antoine m. Marguerite Chabot on 9 Nov 1847 in Ste-Claire-de-Dorchester

Death/Burial

Josephte Kemner dite Laflamme, wife of Jean Baptiste Rouleau, died October 11th 1843 at about 70 years old. She was buried two days later in Ste-Claire-de-Dorchester. [5]

Research note

Josephte Kemner dite Laflamme, second wife of Jacques Rouleau appears to be the mother of Jean Rouleau who married Marguerite Audet. This must be reconciled with the family tree handed down to Bill Sinclair which names his first wife, Angélique Laprise, as the mother of Jean Rouleau.
