Biography
Harlow Charles Landphair borne 1940 to Charles F and Erin Tom Landphair-Bright. While moving around in the early years the family setteled in Ocala, Florida. He graduated from the Florida Military School, Deland, Florida in 1958. He then enrolled in the University of Florida 1958. In I962 he was called to active duty as part of the mobilization precipitated by the "Cuban Missal Chrisis". He was mustered out in August of 1962 and returned to the University of Florida and obtained a Bachelor of Landcape Architecture degree in August of 1963. He worked for Boynton Landscape Company, Palm Beach Florida, The City of St Petersburg and the City of West Palm Beach. In 1971 he went to Mississippi State University to pursue an Masters degree and began his academic career teaching in the Landscape Architecture program. He finished a masters degree in 1974 and decided to pursue a doctorate at Texas A&M. He was hired by the Department of Landscape Architecture at Texas A&M in 1975 having a successful 32 year career in teaching and research. He was promoted to full profeassor in 1985 and began a research program with the Texas Transportation Institute in 1989. He retired from the University in December 2005. In January of 2006 He moved to Aransas Pass Texas. He married Barbara Ann Bates (4/4/42) in 1961 and they had two girls Wendie Ann Landphair Warren (3/27/1967) and Deborah Ann Landphair Moore (1/14/71). He was divorced in 1975 and later married Christine Luciel Pace Landphair who had a daughter by a previous marriage Janice Jean Lotspiech (2/18/60)
