Hi Rod

Congratulations on your Pre-1700 Self-Certification! Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Or you're interested in a particular time period, location, or topic ? Let me know. I can help you figure out if any Projects fit your interests and introduce you to the Leaders.

Projects are a great way to collaborate on your ancestors' profiles and learn the naming conventions and other standards used for profiles from particular places and time periods.

Have you read Research Before Editing? The Sources Style Guide is also essential reading for working on pre-1700 profiles.

Have fun

Maryann ~ Volunteer Coordinator

Hello Rod,

I hope you're enjoying WikiTree.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Always look for Duplicates before adding a profile.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree.

Our Help Index covers topics you may have questions about.

Our G2G Forum is where many of our generous members help each other out.

Visit our most recent "Weekend Chat". Say hello, introduce yourself, and see what other members are up to! http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/147850/weekend-chat-all-members-are-invited-15-may-2015

Of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able.

Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, Patt

My mother past away very early in my life and it was a hard thing for my Dad to talk about family. So much I think that is why he broke off a lot of family ties. I know life would have been very different for me if my mother had lived longer. I feel our ancestry is our history and it should be shared. Only through research and sharing can true knowledge of our ancestry's history be told.

Hi again, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process that you might find helpful. Also, about 'Importing a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.
