and he then married Genevieve Florisca Lambert, the daughter of Sosthene Lambert and Alida Pitre, on 12 Dec 1889 in Chataignier, Louisiana.

His succession was filed in the Opelousas courthouse on 31 Aug 1900.

His son, Martin H Mcgee, was appointed as administrator of his estate.

He was buried in the Lafleur cemetery in the Savoy community of St Landry Parish, Louisiana.
