Who do we think the marriage record for Zach Martin and Rebecca Hubbard belongs to? Not this one, obviously... Family Search has another line of Martins altogether...
Martin-30491 and Martin-18857 appear to represent the same person because: I would say there is plenty of evidence that these are the same Zach, with the same wife and will with children named... next we must compare with Martin-17654
edit: except Martin-30491 has Zacharia for a father but he is married to Rebecca Brooks... and which Zacharia is married to Rebeccah Hubbard??
edit again: now they are the same and should be ready to merge
Martin-17654 and Martin-18857 appear to represent the same person because: Zachariah Martin SR. was the nephew of Zachariah JR., son of Zachariah Jr. who was the brother of John Martin, Zachariah Martin Jr.'s dad, who was likely named after John's father and his grandfather, Zachariah Martin Sr who married Ann Hawkins. His mother was Rachel Hawkins, and his wife was Rebecca Brooks. I have noticed a trend in the 18th century Virginia to North Carolina families, Green and Martin families of VA, NC, SC, & TN in particular are often confused with New England families from Malden Mass., Conn., Rhode Island, etc. with an additional confusion rising when someone in the family was associated with Pennsylvania and the quakers, etc. However, this family is well connected DNA wise with me and we are firmly in the Virginia, NC Tenn boundaries. Considering the lack of 1812 war heroes such as those who fought with Andrew Jackson being underrepresented here on Wikitree, Greens and Martins in particular, and even the goings on with the Lewis and Clark expedition are connected with earlier families who fought in the Revolutionary War together Terrell, Martin and Green, the Greens and Martins of colonial Virginia need to be thoroughly examined, researched and connected. The Zachariah Martin that presently has "JR" attached to him is incorrect; it was an earlier collapsing of two Zachariah Martins in different generations which have since been sorted. He was previously listed as the son of Zachariah Martin Sr. and Ann Hawkins, being collapsed with his uncle. The key difference being in age and spouse and families. The Zachariah Martin who married Rebecca Brooks had a father named John Martin, not Zachariah, so he couldn't have been either Zachariah's son, thus he was probably confused with the Zachariah Martins in his family and Jr was attached erroneously in an effort to sort them out after the fact. I kept the Jr. attachment for now as a trail to be able to discuss this issue, but if merged should be dropped and Sr. and Jr. designation should be given to separate the generations from the earlier Zachariah Sr., or otherwise the oldest Zachariah Martin (1690) could be called I the second, II and then in John Martin's family, his son Zachariah could be Sr. since he had a son named Zachariah as well, to highlight the differences between the lineages.
Martin-18857 and Martin-17654 do not represent the same person because: Neither profile is presently adequately sourced for a merge. The children alive at the time of the father's death are listed in the Will now abstracted on Martin-18857. The children on Martin-17654 do not appear in that will. In Martin-18857 the parents at the top of the profile are not the parents linked in the narrative bio. There is a primary source for the parents in the Comments below the profile--provided these are the same Zachariah Martin.
Martin-63555 and Martin-18857 appear to represent the same person because: Zachariah Jr. who married Rebecca Brooks had a daughter who married into the Terrell family. (Moses Terrell and Nancy Ann Martin) and is the link between the North Carolina and Mississippi connection. See:
