DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
I have removed the photo that was attached to this profile. The 1st crude camera was invented in 1826 (per Wikipedia) so this cannot be a photo of a man who died in 1822.
Sorry, but I find the mention of Agnes Burnett McAlexander, misleading.
JOHN McAlexander m Agnes Burnett, 25 Mar 1780, Amherst Co. , VA.
Marriage record reads: John McAlexander, BACHELOR, and Agness Burnett, spinster. March 25, 1780.
Samuel McAlexander, surety. Consent of her parents John & Elizabeth Burnett. (NOT JOHN HENDERSON)
(Marriage Bonds and Other Marriage Records of Amherst County, Virginia 1763-1800, by William Montgomery Sweeney, p 55)
From the evidence/research, I've gathered, AGNES "NANCY" HENDERSON m WILLIAM McALEXANDER (not JOHN as some post) in the 1760's-70's.
Agnes' father, John Henderson's will, dated 05 Jan 1800, says, "The sum of five shillings to the heirs of my daughter Agnis Alexander des." So, Agnes is deceased before 05 Jan 1800.
William McAlexander was married three times, as established by his obituary.
The estimated birthdates of William McAlexander’s first 4 children, clearly indicates they were born before a 1780, Agnes Burnett marriage.
The children of William McAlexander & Agnes Henderson, as I find them, are:

All in the interest in getting it right. John Henderson is my proven ancestor, and this is a part of my attempt to prove all of his children and their marriages. Thanks........
