Dominique Mérende dit Olivier married Marie Harnois, daughter of Jean harnois and Marie Ham dite Chosse (Chaussé), on 26 Sept 1763 in Lavaltrie (Saint-Antoine)[1]. Dominique was listed as son of Mathieu Mérende and Marie Oudeau, of PAROISSE DE VILLAIRE, DIOCESE DE BESANCON EN FRANCHE CONTE
The couple had the following children:
Marie Harnois died on 11 Jan 1773, funeral on the 12th in Berthier-en-Haut, being listed as 38 years old on the record.[3]
Marriage 2
Marie Catherine Glatus remarried on 27 Nov 1775 in Berthier-en-Haut with Dominique Mérande dit Olivier, widower of Marie Harnois. Named as present were Pierre Roy and Joseph Robillard for the groom, and Jean Baptiste, François, Vital and Alexis Boucher for the bride, none of whom could sign.[4]
No issue from this marriage.[2]
Dominique died on 8 Mar 1801, funeral the next day in St-Cuthbert. He had died suddenly without benefit of clergy. The record listed him as Jean Baptiste Olivier, formerly labourer in the parish, aged around 90, French in origin, widower of Marie Glatu, and named his son Jean Baptiste Olivier as present. This would be Jean Dominique most likely.[5]
