Biography

1776 Project
Private Stephen Morse served with 13th Massachusetts Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Stephen Morse is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A081601.

Stephen was born 28 Jan 1757 to Thomas Morse and Elizabeth Bartlett.[1]

Served with Col. Edward Wigglesworth Wigglesworth-63 in the 13th Massachusetts Regiment (1777), Continental Army

He settled on what came to be known as "Morse Hill" on the old Coventry road from the Plains to Coventry Meadows. He was a soldier in the War of the Revolution. Was a blacksmith. Had a family of twelve sons and two daughters.[2]

The 1830 Census for Haverhill, Grafton, New Hampshire, lists Stephen Morse as a resident. Seven members of his household are enumerated.

His service in the Revolution. [3][4]

He died 2 Oct 1843.[5]
