Loren Noel was an Illinoisan.

Loren Everett Noel was born on 14 Jun 1924 in Lexington, McLean, Illinois, United States, son of Gordon Edward Noel (1894 - 1977) and Clara Susan (Hinthorn) Noel (1896 - 1983).

His siblings were:

Loren E. Noel, 84, of South Pekin, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Pekin Hospital.

He was born June 14, 1924, in Lexington to Gordon and Carrie Hinthorn Noel. He married Helen Helms Aug. 20, 1946, in Pekin.

She survives along with his son, Jon Noel of Pekin; and his sister, Violet Elkin of Chatham.

His parents, son Larry, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Noel was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He was an operating engineer with Operating Engineers Local 649 and worked for Joe Shallenberger for 20 years, retiring in June 1986.

He was a member of Eagles Lodge 2691, Pekin Moose Lodge 916, VFW Post 1232 and Pekin Masonic Lodge 29.

He loved bowling, fishing and gardening.

Cremation was accorded. Burial of cremains with military rites will take place at a later date at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
