Biography

Marie-Anne was born about 1701 in Beaubassin, Nova Scotia. She was the child of Jean Pothier and Anne Poirier.[1]

At 18, on 7 October 1719, Marie-Anne married Jacques Deveau dit Dauphiné, son of Michel Deveau and Marie-Madeleine Martin, at Beaubassin.[2][3]

Their known children were:

  1. Michel Deveau (Aug 10 1721 – unknown) .
  2. Pierre Deveau (about 1723 – unknown) .
  3. Jacques Deveau (about 1726 – Feb 1809) .
  4. Jean Deveau (1729 – Oct 24 1759) .
  5. Joseph Deveau (about 1730 – Dec 21 1819) .
  6. Marie Deveau (Sep 25 1732 – Oct 1759) .
  7. Anne Deveau (Nov 5 1734 – Oct 7 1759)

She died before 12 August 1760.[4]
