I seem to be having a problem with saving data about my father: keep getting notice that there is data that he is living/active user of WikiTree as well as date of death. My father never went on line in his life. My mistake is probably right under my nose, but clicking on notice did not provide an answer, and I am, after all, a Luddite.

yes. I thought I'd add my searches for my father's Ulster ancestors to WikiTree, but I don't seem to speak WikiTree yet.

You can add your father by clicking on your profiles towards the top where it says 'add father'. You will have to fill in the data, dates, and locations and then scroll to the bottom and click the Save button on the right. If he is still living the death field date will be empty and WikiTree's privacy settings will make his profile unlisted to protect his privacy (unless he was a member). You will still be able to see it and keep adding your ancestors from there. The link that Robert gave you has a lot of good information that will help.
