Simon Jansen Romeyn was born about 1643 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland; the son of Claes Jansen Romeyn and Elizabeth 'Leysebet'.
In 1667 on Manhattan he acquired the deed to a house on a parcel of land on the south side of Marckvelt Street in Block D, Lot #2. [1]
Simon Janse, Note—In Valentine's Manual, 1863, is the facsimile signature of Simon Jansen Romeyn, 1661 in the Dutch Church records of New York is the marriage in 1668, of "Simon Jansen Romeyn, young man from Amsterdam and Sophie Jans, maiden from Den Hague”. [2]
