It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
This information is confused with another William Rutherford who married Ursula Parrish and lived in Goochland County, VA. THIS William Rutherford was born in Essex County and died in Montgomery County. His wife is unknown.
The above Deed and will apply to the William Rutherford from Goochland County. Both William Rutherfords served in the American Revolutionary War and both are Patriots in the DAR.
Rutherford-123 WIlliam Rutherford may have actually been married to his distant cousin Elizabeth Rutherford. I have not seen any confirmed record that he was married to U Parrish (different family) or Isabella Beard. This famiy has been mixed up online for many yrs. I relied heavily on William Kenneth Rutherford's book.
From this website I'm showing him as William Rutherford not Rutherford William... http://gw.geneanet.org/tdowling?langen;pztimothy+michael;nzdowling;ocz0;pwilliam;nrutherford
