Amaziah Snow was born in April 1764 in Ashford, Windham County, Connecticut, New England. He was the son of Oliver Snow and Ursula (Streeter) Snow. An American patriot, he was a Captain in the Massachusetts militia during the American Revolution.^[1] He moved from Connecticut to Berkshire County, Massachusetts, around that time.

On October 21, 1789, in Berkshire County, he married Sarah Watson b: Oct 21, 1769 in Becket, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. They had 9 children:^[2]
