Biography
Served heir to his brother, James 22 Apr 1760. He married, first, 6 Jan 1729, Elizabeth, daughter and heiress of Alexander Dunbar of Westfield, who died 3 Jun 1746. They had issue: Kenneth, born 14 Oct 1729; James, born 12 Nov 1730, who died young; and Janet[1] who married Thomas Dunbar and had issue.
He married, second, 21 Mar 1747, daughter of David Sinclair of Southdun, who died 9 Aug 1749. They had no children.
He married, third, 21 Oct 1749, Henrietta, daughter of Hugh Rose of Kilravock,[2] who died Sep 1795. They had issue: Benjamin, born 28 Apr 1761, died May 1843; and Robert Sutherland Dunbar.
