Biography

Several years back I began researching my family genealogy. I had made quite good progress until the drive I stored the files on went bad, and now I have to recreate the entire tree. I began with the immediate family members and the details handed down from generation to generation. I successfully mapped 3 distinct lines of Sweeney in the United States with a possible fourth in the works. The lines I mapped I refer to as The Burgess Sweeney Line (mine), the Moses Sweeney Line (a possible link to mine), The Canadian Sweeney Line (out of Canada and into the U.S., and there is evidence of at least 1 more line.

Included in this research I had gathered a very large number of branched lines as far wide as 8th cousins (about), and as far back as the 1600s (earliest). I do not stop or pause at just the ones I want to research. I research everyone as far as I can find information for.

My objective is to map my lineage as far as possible for everyone to benefit.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Kenneth by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Kenneth:

Hi Kevin,

There are a number of merges that have been proposed....do you plan to return to WikiTree?

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Kenneth,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.

Margaret
