Peeter was born in Heeze in the Netherlands.^[1]

On 27 April 1777 he married Maria Aerts, after they had registered their intention to marry on 12 April 1777. The marriage took place in Heeze.^[1] Among their children was:

• Hendrik Theijs (1792-?)
