John was born in 1815. He was the son of William Tryon and Mary Brown.
He married Catherine Leeman in 1838. They had at least three children; Margaret Ann Tryon, 1839, Solomon, 1842, and George Sydney Tryon, 1846, all in Addington, Canada West.
He married Jane Myles 25 Mar 1863 in Wellington, Hillier, Prince Edward, Ontario, Canada.[1] According to the marriage record Jane was the daughter of William Myles and Margaret Lourie and was born in Ireland in 1835.
John died in 1874.
In the 1851 census at Camden East, Addington, Canada West, we find:
In the 1861 census at at Normandy, Grey County, Canada West, we find John (46), a tavern keeper, with Catherine (43) his first wife who he married in 1838, and son Sidney (15). Living with them is daughter Margaret Babcock (22) with husband Jahia Babcock (23), married in 1858.
John was hanged at the Barrie Jail in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, on Dec 30, 1873 for the murder of Francis Fisher.[2][3]
