Is it possible that Samuel Perry died somewhere around 1695, and Sarah Hoxsie died after the birth of her first son in 1695, thereby leaving Joseph Hoxsie to marry Sarah's recently widowed sister Mary Perry? Just hypothesizing here. It just seems to strange for all of Joseph's children, except for the first, to have Mary listed as the mother rather than Sarah.

Strange... she had an older sister named Mary who married Samuel Perry in 1690. So it's very unlikely that her "real name" was Mary and she just went by Sarah. But it's not just an indexing error, because her name is listed as Mary on every one of her children's birth records. I am intrigued.
