Biography

MESHACK TURNER was born in 1761 in Virginia.

On 2 September 1787, he married Sally Farmer (b c1767), daughter of James Farmer, in Pittsylvania County.

my daughters, Nancy Turner & Sally Turner to be made equal with my other children
son, Meshack Turner

daughter, Jennie Lawson
daughter, Rebkah Pruitt - land whereon Bird Pruitt now lives
Executors: Bird Pruitt, John Turner, Daniel Ogletree
Witnesses: (blank) Parker, John Ogletree

His will was probated February 1808 and recorded in Book 15 on 15 May 1810.

Meshack and Sally were the parents of:

1. Nancy Turner, born circa 1799; married 31 December 1818 to John Lawson in Wilkes County, Georgia. [3] She was a legatee in her father's will.

2. Sally Turner was a legatee in her father's will. sally married William Billingslea.

3. Meshack Turner, Jr. was a legatee in his father's will.

4. James Turner was a legatee in his father's will.

5. Jennie Turner married Mr. Lawson. She was a legatee in her father's will.

6. Rebeckah Turner married Mr. Pruitt. Rebeckah was a legatee in her father's will.

Turner-26810 and Turner-7552 appear to represent the same person because: Same name. Same wife, not just same name, but same actual wife. Both were born in Halifax County, Virginia, and moved to Wilkes County, Georgia, and then died there. The only difference is that Turner-26810 was born three years earlier and lived two years longer.
