Biography
Mary (Unknown) Shumate was a Virginia colonist.
Mary was born about 1732 in Virginia. Her maiden name and parents are unknown. She passed away before 1769 in Fauquier County, Virginia.
Very little is known about Mary. Only one record has so far been found that has her name. She is listed in the Church Minutes as becoming a member through baptism of the Broad Run Baptist Church in Fauquier County, Virginia on 12 August 1764. A later entry dated 18 August 1769 indicates she is deceased.[1]
Mary married Daniel Shumate about 1748 in Prince William County, Virginia. No marriage record has been found, however they had seven known children. It is difficult to determine accurately when the children were born, but these dates are generally accepted.

I don't know how you can conclude that a Mary Shumake was married to a Daniel Shumate & the mother of his kids from one entry that just states her name. Shumake is German.
