- Place: District of Swartland, Cabo de Goede Hoop [South Africa][1]
- Parents: He was the son of Gysbert van der Westhuizen and Catharina van Schalkwijk. [2][1]
Baptism
- LNAB will be set as "Van Der Westhuijsen" as abbreviations are not allowed in the LNAB as per WikiTree LNAB Rules. Even though the surname was later written in pencil as "van der Westhuysen", the most likely spelling at the time would have been "Van Der Westhuijsen[3]
