Biography

William Williams, born 1 May 1716, was the third child of Desire Denison, the first wife of John Williams of Stonington, Connecticut.

He married twice, both at Stonington:

  1. 15 Feb 1738 Martha Wheeler. They had 10 children during the ensuing timeframe through March 1758, all born at Stonington.
  2. 17 March 1785 widow Mary Hewitt/Jewitt (she d. between will dated 9 May 1792 and probate 4 June 1799. Her will says she had a son, William Prince, and several daughters, all by previous husbands.)

William Williams died 27 Jul 1801 at Stonington.

Williams-1666 and Williams-1612 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse, child(ren), actuarial dates, geography. Wheeler-1666 was created despite the very loose approximation of his birth date, which is accurate in Wheeler-1612 per the reference source.
