Do you have early ancestors from Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, and/or Georgia, or are you interested in working on pre-1776 profiles from these colonies?  If so, come join the US Southern Colonies Project. There are plenty of ways to get involved, whether it be through a colonial, topical, or a profile improvement team.

If you have an interest in U.S. Southern Colonial history, have been on WikiTree at least 30 days, have made at least 200 contributions, and have successfully taken the pre-1700 quiz, then we would love to have you join us.

To join the project, please click on the 'answer this post' link below and say that you would like to join (please don't use the 'comment' link as it makes it hard to keep track - thanks!) and list the team(s) that you want to join.  Make sure that you are logged onto Wikitree when you answer so we know who you are.  A project member will be in touch to get your email address (for the Google group discussion) and confirm your team interests.

Sincerely, Mary, Membership Coordinator

I’d like to join the Carolina and Virginia teams to research my Quaker relatives who’ve been in America since the early 1600s.
Hi Jennifer Merritt Jordan,    I will send you a private Wikitree email for you to read, then reply to my email with your email address.  This will take a while to direct add you to the teams.  Be thinking on whether you want just Carolina, or all three Carolina teams (Carolina,  Province of North Carolina (1715-1776) and Province of South Carolina (1715-1776).
I would like to join Maryland, Virginia, Carolina.
I am sending you a private Wikitree emaill with directions on what to do next.  Basically you will have to answer the email, so that I receive your email address.  With that, I will add you to the Teams.  Look once again at Carolikna.   There are 3 Carolinas-  Carolina, North Carolina and South  Carolina.

I'd like to join the US Southern Colonies Project to improve the Wikitree in these areas.  Most of my paternal side were in Virginia and North Carolina pre 1776.  I have particular interest in collaborating to document the Burch/Lawrence intermarriage connections.

I'm interested in being a part of this project. My people were in colonial Virginia, North & South Carolina, and Georgia. I'd like to join the profile improvement team, I'm already a Sourcer and a Data Doctor.
by Beverly Diaz G2G6 Mach 4 (42.0k points)

Beverly watch for a Wikitree Email arriving to you with instructions of what to do next.  You will need to reply to the email telling me which team of the Profile Improvements you want or all five teams?

1) Arborists Team 2) Bio Builders Team, 3) Categories Team, 4) Connectors Team, 5) Data Doctors Team

I saw the email and replied to it but in case you see this sooner I'll say that I'd like to be with the Data Doctors.

Hi, I'd like to join the Maryland team. My wife's family is from the eastern shore (Clough/Clow, Kirby, Parrott, Morgan) back into the 1600's. I'm also interested in Delaware, but I saw no "Middle_Colonies" project.  What would be the appropriate project for colonial Delaware?  Thanks.

I would like to join the Virginia team for 2 specifc reasons:

1. My ancestor John Peter Fryrear-43 was born in early 1700s probably Virginia Colony.  I am examining Isle of Wight area and expect to add profiles from 1600s and 1700s.

2. I am participating in USBH project and adding late-1870s and early 1800s profiles specific to Virginia (esp. Wythe County right now).  Rather than create a bunch of separate profiles, I wish to link them back, where proven, to prior generation profiles (i.e. avoid orphan profiles).
by Rick Fryrear G2G1 (1.7k points)
Rick,

I have sent you a private WikiTree email.   It has the Teams links in it.  Please answer the email, which will come back to me and provide to me your email address.  I use that to add you to the Team or Teams as well as the Google group.
