PS For this event, "connecting" means that you add a profile from one of the links on an existing profile for parents, siblings, spouse, and children. The goal is to add as many linked profiles as possible.
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.
Not sure how to start? Check out How to Use Wikitree.
Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. Its a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2Gs Question of the Week: Do you use a genealogy program? The G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community, and if you would like to get more involved, see this page for volunteer opportunities.
Happy hunting!

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Welcome to the family! Were really glad youre here.
