The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches. Once you have done this the data from your file will be filled in on the add profile screen so that you can review and make adjustments before saving.
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.
Welcome, K! You are now a Family Member! :) I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do, as it is a lot of fun and there are tons of great people collaborating.
First, make sure you check out our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time learning our system: Member How-To pages.
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm here to help!
See you in the branches!

PS: Did you know that Tags become clickable links to others researching those names, or places, that you are interested in? They also control what is included in the family activity emails from WikiTree.
At WikiTree we use our own names on our profiles or we use specific words that work with our privacy system. If you would like to "anonymize" your name, you can use Anonymous or an initial for either your first or last name, but not both, please. If your "alias" is truly a nickname, you can put that in the Preferred Name field.
This is just a note to say hi and to let you know that I'm available to answer questions about WikiTree.
