Hi Carl,

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! Now it's time to pick a project that best fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on.

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.

Once you find a project that interests you, visit their project page for more information and to find out how to join. You can also use the Following link to add the project tag to your profile, and you'll be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)

Hi Carl

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

P.S. Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles. Thanks!
Hi!

I'm Eowyn, a WikiTree Mentor and Team Member. We're building a single family tree that we all hook into. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well!

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our members help each other out.

Any questions I can answer? Happy to help :)

Hi Mike Welcome to WikiTree thank you for Volunteering to Help Grow our World Wide Family Tree by adding your Branches

You are now a Member of the WikiTree Community Mike but please note we are trying to build one Collabrative Tree which means one profile per person so please look for duplicates before you add any Profiles to WikiTree

Everything on WikiTree is a Collaborative Work in Progress so dont forget to read and sign our Honor Code its what keeps WikiTree a Friendly and Helpful Community good luck with your search ~Terry~

My name is Carl Dollmann, but I am known by my middle name Michael (Mike). I am researching the Dollmann and Meyer family genealogy and have had a fair amount of success with the Meyer research in regard to the South African Meyer families being descendants of Wilhelm (Willem) Meyer (Meijer) (circa 1658 – 1690) from Essen, Luneburg, Germany. However, I have had no success with the Dollmann genealogy due mainly to the fact that these records are all in Germany and I, unfortunately, cannot speak German.

I am willing become a contributor to the family tree project and to assist where possible on limited exploratory/fact finding research in the area in which I live i.e. the KwaZulu-Natal region of South Africa.
