This is not the John Ford who lived in New Jersey and died 1721-1724.
Although, a secondary source has been found listing Hannah Sherman[1] (no dates or parents mentioned) as wife of John Ford, corroborating evidence for her surname should be found. She should perhaps be listed as Hannah Unknown until then. The Mayflower Families "silver book" on the Hopkins family[2] says Hannah Sherman, the daughter of William Sherman and Desire Doty, married only William Ring.
John was born 14 AUG 1659, in Marshfield, Plymouth Colony, the son of William Ford and Sarah Dingley. "John the sonne of william fford Juniour was Borne ye 14th of August 1659."[3]
He married Hannah, whose maiden name is not certain, although Sherman is given by the Ford Family Notes.[1][2] The couple had children born in Marshfield:[3]
William, b. April 12, 1684;
Hannah, b. July 24, 1685;
Mercy, b. October 14, 1687;
Peleg, b. May 10, 1690;
Sarah, b. October 14, 1692.
In 1688, John Foord, boatman purchased three and a half land from Joseph Waterman.[4]
His estate was inventoried Oct 10, 1693; his widow Hannah was appointed administratrix on Oct 18, 1693.[5][1][6] His father William mentions in a couple of deeds from 1716, that his son John is deceased.
There has been different death information mistakenly listed for John Ford.
MAY 1724 Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey; this is death of the NJ John, who is not the Marshfield John.
Oct 18, 1663, Marshfield, Plymouth Colony. This date is before his marriage and children.
12 NOV 1749 Marshfield, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA. Probably belongs to another John.
Disputed marriage
John Ford's estate[5] was inventoried and sworn to by "Hannah fford relict and widdow of John fford" of Marshfield on 18 October 1693. Hannah Sherman married William Ring on 13 July 1693, and would have been named on this document as the "now wife of William Ring" if she were the same person.

Col. Jacob Ford, senior, was a son of John Ford (son of William and Sarah Dingley Ford, b. at Duxbury or Marshfield, Mass., 1659; settled at Woodbridge, N. J., in 1700 or earlier; deacon of the Presbyterian church there in 1708, and elder in 1710; removed to Morris County; d. before May 1724. John Ford m. at Woodbridge, Dec. 13, 1701, Elizabeth Freeman, who was b. in March 1681, "in the city of Axford, Old England, came to Philadelphia when there was but one house in it--and into this province when she was but one year and a half old: deceased April 21, 1772, aged 91 years and one month." Jacob Ford, senior, the son of John Ford, was born at Woodbridge, April 13, 1704. He was one of the pioneers in the iron business of New Jersey, and for nearly half a century was interested in mines and forges in Morris County and vicinity. In 1738 he applied for a license to keep an inn at "New Hanover" (now Morristown). When Morris county was created, in 1739, the first courts were held at Jacob Ford's house, and in 1740 he was appointed a collector of Morris Township. In 1748 he located the land on both sides of the river at Rockaway, and the tract was said to include Job Allen's ironworks, which are believed to have been built-in 1730. He was Judge of the Morris county courts in 1740, and most of the time for the next forty years; was a ruling elder in the First Presbyterian church of Morristown from 1747. In 1755 he had command of a detachment of 300 men to protect the frontiers against threatened invasion "New Jersey Biographical Sketches, 1665-1800/ Ancestry.com

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
"New Jersey Deaths and Burials, 1720-1988", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2S8-3QRR : 19 January 2020), John Ford, 1724. Indicates the son of William and Sarah Dingley Ford died in New Jersey in 1724
Hannah (Sherman) Ring was not the wife of John Ford. Perhaps more research will find who his wife was? She will soon be detached from him and son Peleg. See: John D. Austin, Mayflower Families Through 5 Generations, Stephen Hopkins, Vol. 6 (Plymouth, MA: General Society of Mayflower Descendants, 2001 [3rd edition]), p. 28.
Please read the biog. section for incorrect wife Joanna Andrews-1178. I would like to disconnect from John Ford-182 of Marshfield. Objections? The children I believe belong to Joanna also. I will double check before disconnecting them also.
Ford-2848 and Ford-182 appear to represent the same person because: Other than death date, same person. I've looked for a death record for John Ford and find nothing that would be this John
Ford-4044 and Ford-182 appear to represent the same person because: All information matches except place of death. Do you have a reliable source for that ?
There are 4 John Fords, 2 Josiah Fords, 2 Mary Fords (I've already initiated a merge request to resolve), and 2 Experience Fords listed as siblings. I know that at least 3 of the 4 John Fords are the same person. The fourth one could be invalid as I've not seen children named after one another unless the first one is dead. I think there might also be problems with lineage profiles backwards and forwards. As I am trying to connect with some of these ancestors, could you (Ford 4041, Ford-4044), Kathryn Greenwald (Ford-182), and DavaLynn Joy (Ford-2848) please combine forces and help me out?
DavaLynn, There are two John Fords mixed up in this profile. The one who was the son of William died before Oct. 18. 1693. I am going to make the corrections necessary. Here is a link to an article:
Kathryn, You have the correct birth date for John, the son of William, but that John married Hannah Sherman, who outlived him. Your John was probably the John Ford of Duxbridge. Here is an article that may clarify the situation:
