DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with AJ or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with AJ:

Hi AJ,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources; find or merge duplicates; clean up GEDCOM or merged biographies; or interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Hello A.J.,

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a while now, I thought I would stop by to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions? Let me know if you need any tips to help you get more of your family members added.

I am here to help with any problems or concerns you may have. To contact me, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment so that I will be notified. Alternatively, you can click my name to visit my profile, where you can send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page.

 :)

P.S. Please take your time. Finish one profile - adding locations (including countries), dates, and at least one real source - before moving to the next profile. And if you need help finding reliable information for your family members? The easiest way to find info and sources is to use the handy RootsSearch link on the right side of any profile. Use your WikiTree login to access over 20 websites. Once you find a correct source, copy and paste the citation info and add it to the profile. Learn more about sources here.

Hi AJ,

Thank you for upgrading. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I noticed that you didn't add any Tags. The nice thing about Tags is that they become clickable links to others researching those names, or places, that you are interested in. They also control what is included in the family activity emails from WikiTree. You can learn more about tags here.

Have fun collaborating on your ancestors!

Hi AJ,

I noticed that you posted on William James John Warwick's and John Walter Warwick's profile. His profile is orphaned at this time, so no one will be notified about your message. I happened to see it as a result of Greeter duties. If you upgrade you will be able to adopt the profile and build it into your twig of the WikiTree. There may be a waiting period if the profile is for someone born before 1700.

If you choose to upgrade and adopt the profile, you will be able to add your sources and information and improve the profile. Then you can connect it to your branch of the tree. Any improvements that you make will go a long way in improving the branches of your ancestry.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, please log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure I will be notified. Alternatively, click my name to visit my profile, where you can leave a comment, or send a private message.

Take care,

David ~ WikiTree Greeter
